Every Sunday we offer Refreshments after the 10 am service. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and catch up with those we know. Begins about 11:10 a.m. in the Reception Room.
It is with deep sadness that we report the death of George Jaxel, father of Ed Jaxel. Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Visitation will be at Barrett’s Funeral Home in Tenafly, on Friday, February 17 – from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. Lynne Weber will be leading a service at the funeral home on Saturday, February 18 at 10:00 am.

January 27-28 – 138th Diocesan Convention – Our elected deputies: Alan Lauderdale, Ed Jaxel, Olivia Savell; elected as District 9 Youth Deputy: our own Zoe Bliss — kudos to Zoe!
Watch for a report from the members who attended the Convention. Atonement is one of nine Episcopal churches in northeastern Bergen County which comprises District 9 – and Zoe Bliss was elected by them. Workshops were held on a wide range of congregational development issues and diocesan business including resolutions on “holy habits” for all Episcopalians, the needs of children, our Companion Diocese, lay employee benefit mandates, and the diocesan budget were discussed.
The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is only a few weeks away….Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00 pm! Join us for the “Feast” of pancakes, sausage, applesauce and desserts – before entering the the “Fast” of Ash Wednesday (four services at 7:00 am, 12 noon, 5 pm and 7:30 pm). At the Pancake Supper, children participate in crafts and the annual “hiding of the Alleluias.” $6/adults, $3/children, $20 maximum per family.
Four Sundays in March – “Serman Talk Backs” – The Reverend John Marcantonio (March 4), Ms. Angie Rispoli (March 11) and the Reverend Lynne Bleich Weber (March 18 and 25) will preach during the service and lead discussions afterwards at 11:30 a.m. Also, Bible Study on the book of Daniel will continue on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.
Weekday Eucharists during Lent will be held on four Wednesdays at 7:00 am, followed by coffee, muffins and conversation. The dates are March 14, 21, 28 and April 4.
Atonement’s annual FAMOUS LENTEN SOUP SUPPER (date to be announced shortly). Enjoy a wide selection of homemade soups and desserts, children’s craft project.
