“Will you continue in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in the prayers?” “I will with God’s help.” - The Baptismal Covenant, BCP, p. 304
You’re invited to share with us in celebrations & remembrances – worship, spiritual growth, small groups and big community events, in music and the arts, in outreach and service.
Here’s what’s coming up in 2018…
Our Famous Lenten Soup Supper will be on Wednesday, March 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Ten to twelve HOMEMADE soups, with desserts. BYOB x 2 (Bring Your Own Bowl and Bring Your Own B….!). $8/adults supports our pastoral ministries.
“Invite a Friend” Sunday is March 18. Members of our church family invite a friend or family member to experience our community of faith and love.
Some past events, that will happen again in 2018….!
Our COUNTRY FAIR was held on November 3 (Preview Dinner) and November 4, 2017 (Fair). All are welcome to our famous fall fair – with Silent Auction (furniture, art, rare items), Tricky Tray (lots of baskets), Bake Booth (all homemade!), Serendipity Boutique (china, glass, collectibles, jewelry), Books, Children’s Corner (gently used toys and clothes), Holiday Booth, Country Kitchen (beef chili, butternut squash soup, hot dogs, turkey sandwiches, salad, beverages).
Our Parish Christmas Party was held on Saturday, January 30 at 5 p.m. at the Rectory in Englewood. The party always follows our caroling – this year beginning at 2:45 p.m., singing for homebound parishioners in Cresskill and Tenafly, and folks at BrightSide Manor in Teaneck. Then, the Rector invites us all back to her home for hot chocolate and cookies, wine and cheese. All are welcome.
LABYRINTH - The Labyrinth (with patio and bench) is now OPEN again for the spring – summer – fall. Walk the labyrinth at any time. Brochures have also been prepared with information and suggested meditations, and are available inside (and occasionally on the bench outside.) Walking the Labyrinth will be part of our Sunday morning worship on Pentecost, June 4, weather permitting.
REFRESHMENTS: Every Sunday church members volunteer to offer refreshments after the 10 am service. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and catch up with those we know. In the summer, we have one 9 am service in the A/C Chapel with refreshments immediately afterwards in the A/C Reception Room.
SMALL GROUPS for spiritual growth and fellowship are detailed on our Adult Ministries page. Join us for Discovery Nights, Bible Study, Book Group, Quiet Days, and the annual fall Adult Education Retreat.
DURING THE CHURCH YEAR, Atonement holds a number of opportunities to gather and get to know each other better, such as: The Country Fair in the fall, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in the winter, the Parish Soup Supper during Lent, the Newcomers’ Brunch, All Parish Open Houses at parishioners’ homes, and a variety of refreshments after concerts and special services.
