At Atonement, our Christian worship is formed by The Book of Common Prayer.  Worshipping God, the source of love, beauty and holiness means that we strive for beautiful, inspiring services that are also warm and welcoming.  The Episcopal/Anglican church is seen as a “bridge” between Roman Catholic, Eastern and Protestant traditions.

Our most common service is the Holy Eucharist, which includes hymns, readings from the Bible, a sermon, prayers and Holy Communion.  Each service is crafted for the church season and the needs of the larger community.  Members of the congregation assist in leading worship.  They serve as Ushers, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Choir Members, and on the Altar Guild

The Lynne Bleich Weber Ecumenical Chapel
is a lovely and quiet space that is open 24/7 for prayer and meditation.  The chapel was re-named in 2018 celebrating the 25th anniversary of our rector's ordination.  (Lynne Weber has served as Diocesan Ecumenical and Interreligious Officer for 25 years, and also is the President of The Episcopal Church's network of diocesan officers, EDEIO.)

Taize Prayers

7:00 pm on seven Sundays/year in the Chapel

Looking for a more meditative form of worship?  Look no further! Our Taizé service is a candlelight service of simple songs, scripture, prayer, and ten minutes of silence.  It is designed to encourage people of different Christian backgrounds, or none at all, to worship together.  The songs, using just a few words, are sung many times in a meditative way, to allow our hearts and minds to find peace in God's presence.  The service is accompanied by piano, flute, drum, and voice.

Our Taizé service is described by one of our members as  “the most peaceful 45 minutes in my busy life.”
